A small family shop making solid walnut gifts that get used, not stored.
I'm Jesse LaPadula. I learned woodworking as an apprentice luthier under Kevin LaDue of LaDue Music, building acoustic guitars. When I finished my first one, Kevin congratulated me: I now knew about .015% of woodworking. He figured he knew maybe 3%.
After building out a basement shop and a few more guitars, I wanted to make something simpler, but excellent. That turned into dozens of cutting boards, a lot of design iterations, and in 2021, Carousel City Woodworks. Since then we've made engraved gifts for local businesses, including more than three years of client gifts for a Binghamton dental practice.
Today we focus on one thing done well: solid walnut gifts, engraved with the details that make them personal. A family's name and new address. A company's logo. A note written by hand on the label.
Our walnut comes from local independent sawyers who practice urban logging. Most of it grew right here in the Triple Cities, from trees that would otherwise have gone to waste. There's no substitute for North American black walnut.
I build the boards. Fernanda engraves, wraps and ships every order. Nothing is outsourced, and every piece is checked by one of us before it goes in the box.
If it has our name on it, it's going to look right, show up on time, and last.
What we make
